Welcome to Del Merei (“Del-Mary”) Grille, where you can enjoy delicious Southern-inspired food in a modern, yet comfortable and inviting setting.

Located in the vibrant Del Ray section of Alexandria, Virginia, the restaurant has quickly become a neighborhood favorite where diners return again and again for the gracious hospitality and consistently excellent food. Locals call it “the Del” and know it’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy a wonderful meal.

It was selected as Open Table’s Diner’s Choice for Neighborhood Gem and listed as a Neighborhood Treasure by Tom Sietsema of The Washington Post.

The restaurant has two sections: the contemporary dining room and a separate bar with full food service. Everything is made fresh in-house, from the warm, flaky biscuits to an array of sauces and decadent desserts. For dinner, choose one of Chef (and co-owner) Eric Reid’s innovative creations or select your own grilled entrée, homemade sauce, and two sides. With a wide range of mouth-watering choices, you can create endless combinations that will keep you coming back for more.

In addition to the full lunch and dinner menus, there is the new lower-priced DEL-icious menu, seasonal offerings, and an extensive wine list. The menu features local favorite Vienna Inn chili dogs (co-owner Mary Abraham Reid’s grandparents owned and operated the Vienna Inn for forty years).

Del Merei Grille is a family affair where every patron is a special guest and the mood is decidedly upbeat. Owners Mary and Eric — childhood friends and now brother and sister-in-law — grew up in Alexandria and are deeply rooted in the community. They love what they do and it shows in every detail. They look forward to welcoming you to the Del!
